Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center Holds the First International Forum on Ophthalmic Nursing
On the 17th to 19th December 2015, Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center (ZOC) held the first International Forum on Ophthalmic Nursing, chaired by Xiao Huiming, division head of Department of Nursing from ZOC. Several leaders were invited and delivered opening remarks in the forum, including Peng Gangyi, vice division head of Division of Medical Administration, Health Department of Guangdong Province; Cheng Shouzhen, vice president of Chinese Nursing Association; Qin Huiying, chairman of Sun Yat-sen University Nursing Committee and Xia Dan, Party secretary of ZOC. Nursing experts from Britain, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, Beijing, Shanghai and Wenzhou were also invited to give lectures in the forum. The forum attracted over 200 ophthalmic nursing trainees from 75 institutions in China.
The forum established a platform for ophthalmic nursing at home and abroad with good contents and rich academic exchanges. Experts shared views on current situations of ophthalmic nursing at home and abroad, the future direction of ophthalmic nursing, challenges and research on clinical ophthalmic nursing. They also communicated with each other on heated topics, advanced ideas and related research results of uveitis, glaucoma and strabismus. Two experts from Moorfields Eye Hospital in Britain delivered excellent speeches on the development of ophthalmic nursing in Britain.
