On the morning of April 27, 2016, the Guangdong International Workers’ Day Celebration & Model Worker Commendation Conference was held in Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center. Hu Chunhua, Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee; Zhu Xiaodan, Governor of Guangdong Province; Huang Longyun, Chairman of the Standing Committee of Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress; and Wang Rong, Chairman of the CCPCC Guangdong Provincial Committee, attended the conference and presented the awards to the winners.

Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center of Sun Yat-sen University was awarded the National May 1 Labor Certificate, Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center was awarded the Guangdong May 1 Labor Certificate, and Professor Li Baojun from the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Sun Yat-sen University won the National May 1 Labor Medal.
