On November 13, the Hospital Management Institute of Fudan University released the Reputation Rankings of China’s Medical Specialties 2016 in Shanghai, announcing a list of top 100 hospitals and 37 Medical Specialties across China. Altogether 3,969 nationally renowned medical experts from 37 clinical specialties served as judges in the review.

With the aim of bringing more hospitals into the view of the public and patients and making medical care more accessible, the Hospital Management Institute of Fudan University initiated the Rankings based on discipline construction and other criteria since 2010.  Now it has become the most authoritative and best recognized hospital rankings in China. This year witnesses the seventh annual release of the Rankings, and the Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center (ZOC) of Sun Yat-sen University tops the list for the seventh consecutive time.
