Terry, the Director of Corneal Services at the Devers Eye Institute in Portland, Oregon and the president of the international Endothelial Keratoplasty Group (EKG), visited the Corneal Disease Department in Zhu Jiang New Town Premises of Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center(ZOC). After careful examination of a postoperative patient that underwent the Lamellar Keratoplasty with the preoperative diagnosis of Mooren’s ulcer, he congratulated Professor Ting Huang on successful operation.

Professor Terry began the first U.S. clinical series of Endothelial Keratoplasty (EK) that he named DLEK. Over the past 18 years he has pioneered the further development of EK with over 120 peer-review publications on DLEK, DSEK, DSAEK and now DMEK. In light of his renowned research and contribution in the field of Endothelial Keratoplasty, we invited him to give two lectures on the 3rd Zhongshan Cornea Forum in conjunction with the 1st South Central Eye Bank Collaborative Conference. The titles for the two lectures were “DMEK: Standardized Technique, Results, and Complications” and “Penetrating Keratoplasty and Suturing Techniques”, which were greatly welcomed by domestic and overseas scholars.
