The 2018 International Pediatric Ophthalmology Forum in conjunction with the 9th National Ophthalmic Graduate Students Forum Successfully Held

The 2018 International Pediatric Ophthalmology Forum in conjunction with the 9th National Ophthalmic Graduate Students Forum held in Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center’s Zhujiang New Town Premises. The Forums are co-organized by the Graduate School of Sun Yat-sen University, Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center (ZOC), Sun Yat-sen University, and Guandong Medical Doctor Association.



 

Over 200 Graduate students and residents from 34 universities and ophthalmic institutes participated the three-day forums. As stated in the welcome remark by Professor Yizhi Liu, the director of ZOC and the chair of the forums, that the National Ophthalmology Graduate Students have been hold for 8 years, aiming to educate the students. It also serves as a platform to educate the educators to enhance their responsibilities and remind them of their missions. 67 leading speakers from diverse specialties shared their experience in ophthalmology education, graduate education, and the development strategy in ophthalmology. These topics are delivered via live lectures, surgery shows and case discussion panel.  


Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center (ZOC) combines clinics, education and research. It has been ranked number one as the best specialized hospital with the best reputation in the past consecutive years and the most influential institute in scientific advances for the past 4 consecutive years. ZOC has traditionally emphasis on education by cultivating generations of ophthalmologic professionals. It has 75 PhD mentors and over 600 PhD students have already graduated from it.
