Recently, the monograph "The clinical diagnosis and treatment of strabismus" edited by Professor Jianhua Yan of the Department of Strabismus and Amblyopia, Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center (ZOC) was officially published by the People's Health Publishing House in April 2021.

Strabismus is an important branch of Ophthalmology, but at present, there are few books about the diagnosis and treatment of strabismus in China. Professor Jianhua Yan summarized the clinical experience of decades into the book "clinical diagnosis and treatment of strabismus". This book introduces related knowledge of strabismus in detail, including the anatomy, classification and diagnosis, surgery and non-surgical treatments, nursing and other aspects. Based on the complexity and diversity of clinical cases of strabismus, Professor Jianhua Yan also summarized 75 cases of typical and special cases, covering various types of strabismus, such as orbital fracture, thyroid associated ophthalmopathy (TAO) etc. Each case was accompanied by relevant reviews and the author's clinical experience. There are also 18 strabismus operation videos, which are convenient for readers to learn the standard strabismus operation.

It is hoped that the book "clinical diagnosis and treatment of strabismus" can become a practical reference book of great assistance for the ophthalmologists and play an essential role in promoting the clinical work of strabismus and amblyopia in China.
